    PWG Sells Out
With the nationally released DVD now in stores, one must now ask themselves, what does this mean for PWG? Did PWG release the DVD in hopes of selling more DVDs? PWG Sells Out is labeled as the best of PWG volume one, does this mean there will be more best of compilations from PWG for retail stores? It’s undeniable that those that buy this DVD will become PWG fans, that PWG DVD delivers.

PWG no doubt made the biggest splash among independent wrestling fans when they announced the long list of matches that will make up the nationally released DVD. It read like a laundry list of fan favorite PWG matches. One that purchases PWG Sells Out gets the most bang out of their buck. The only reason question on my mind is why did PWG do this?

PWG, like most indepedent wrestling companies, hopes to convert the average wrestling fan into a PWG fan. But will an average wrestling fan be willing to pay for more? It is because of this DVD, PWG makes it easier for a new fan to follow the promotion. Unlike the ROH DVDs, PWG hopes to sell their newest DVDs and not necessarily their entire DVD library. What happens if the average wrestling fan will content just owning PWG Sells Out?

The cover of the DVD has the likes of Samoa Joe, AJ Styles and Christopher Daniels on it, this will do well for the average TNA fan. But what makes the DVD cover great, is the illustration of Super Dragon curb-stomping the World’s Heavyweight Champion, CM Punk. PWG couldn’t have asked for better timing. I don’t think adding Joey Ryan and Human Tornado of Wrestling Society X “fame” will do anything for the average fan.

The reason why I keep bringing up the average fan is because that’s who these DVDs are marketed to. It is because of previously mentioned reasons why I feel that PWG has one of the best nationally released DVDs out there. Most indepedent wrestling fans have seen these matches and own these dvds but the average wrestling fan will have their minds blown. No one can pass up 9 hours of wrestling for 15 dollars!

It’s a toss up for me which night is better.

Night 1 has the Strong Style 4-way, Age of the Fall vs. Young Bucks, International 6-man, Koslov vs. Romero, and LeRae vs. Taylor matches that peak my interest.

Night 2 has Ki vs. Romero, Age of the Fall vs. Strong/Evans, Steenerico vs. Young Bucks, Koslov vs. Yokosuka and Necro vs. Kingston match. Call me crazy, but Hero vs. PAC does nothing for me.

Thankfully, I can go to both nights. And I’m actually pretty happy that neither night looks better than the other. They’re equally great sounding, for different reasons. I guess if I had to make a choice, Night 1 looks just a little better. Both should be darn good though, maybe even after the pre-requisite “PWG no shows” happen and some matches have to be switched around.
